9 People you should play Golf With to Improve Your Business
Golf can be expensive but there are a few people you should invest a round of golf with. Chances are good that they will accept your invitation and take care of it or invite you out as their treat down the road. Also, getting your next great opportunity can come from these people so don't wait until the funnel is dry and you are looking for a gig to start networking with these folks.
Your Clients and their Families
It sounds simple but how many clients have you played with in the last 6 months. Yes, you are busy but better relationships make it much easier and golf can deliver that. Also, how many of competitors are taking out your client's families. I bet not many. Be the hero tomorrow.
Folks That Can Help Your Clients
Take a half a day and list all the clients and prospects that you presently have and then list all the people in your sphere of influence that could help each one. Now start inviting your circle of influence out for a round of golf with your clients and watch your bank account grow.
Your Vendors
Your vendors can be a great source of leads. And when you build relationships with these folks, they will focus on your business more.
Your Professional Service Vendors (Attorney, Accountant, Insurance Agent, Financial Planner)
Same idea as above but I do have a story. My home owner's insurance agent does not play golf but I take him to lunch once a year. The first time he thought I was trying to sell him something and I told him, no hidden agendas here but if there is a hurricane don't forget who bought you lunch. Well, I went through three hurricanes without a claim and I attribute it to the positive karma of these lunches. He also has had a few good leads for me through the years.
Your Religious Leader and Folks From Your Place of Worship
The Usher at your Place of Worship could be the brother of the executive you can't get an appointment with. Organize a quarterly event at a local golf course where all the members can come out and have some fellowship.
Also, treat your Religious Leader to a round a golf once a year. He or she has a good relationship with a person that we all need a better relationship with.
Your Neighbors
The Crime Dog says that you should say hi to your neighbors more often and there is no better way than a round of golf. But more importantly, it would make your home life more enjoyable also. Oh, the guy down the street went to school with the purchasing agent that you can't get arrested with.
The following are the rest of the list. Pretty self explanatory so I will spare you the humor.
