Doing What is Right
HAPPY THANKSGIVING........ DOING WHAT IS RIGHT As most of you know, I am a huge Meeechigan fan, (was it that hard to figure out?) and what has transpired over the past 72 hours has shone light on a man named Lloyd Carr. Having some inside knowledge of what this man is all about, I find it tough to see him go because he was able to do something at a major university that most others can not — he ran it his way. For the13 years he spent at the university, he stayed true to himself and did not succumb to pressure from outside forces. If a player skipped class, that player could not participate in practice or get his PT. Did this hurt his chances of winning on Saturday? Of Course. But he did not waver in what he thought was right, and he was fortunate to have the support he needed. I am also fortunate because I work for a company that allows me to do things “right.” If it is raining, I can cancel the event without penalty because it is the right thing to do. Hopefully you are in the same situation. Hopefully you can do what is right for the customer versus what is right for your company. It sounds simple, but we all know that it is difficult to do what is right without the support. Most of us have been in situations where we had to compromise the customer, and we all agree it is no fun. The bottom line — there are plenty of situations that are “right.” If you happen to be so fortunate, congrats. Be thankful. If not, Meeechigan is hiring....... "Thirteen years ago when I was named the head coach, I took as my guide, the words of Bo Schembechler. He said, 'Be your own soul. Learn to live. If some man force, you take no heed, if some men hate, you have no care. Sing your song, dream your dream, hope your hope and pray your prayer.' And that's what I've tried to do." PS- The great news is that when you do it right is when the phone rings with referrals and testimonials.
