Eagle Creek Golf Club Opens With A Bang! Hole In One Scored During First Tournament At New Orlando Course

ORLANDO, FL - Clifford E. Wright did his part in
creating a memorable and exciting official first day at the new Eagle Creek Golf Club in Southeast Orlando. He scored a hole-in-one during the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital Charity Golf Classic.

The ace came on the demanding and picturesque 17th, which was playing 159 yards for the tournament. Wright, a Longwood, FL, resident, used a 5-wood into a strong wind. Witnessing the hole in one were James Hart, Howard Pomp and Gordon Jackson.

The Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital event was the first outing on the first official day of this exciting new golf courses, located just past
Lake Nona on Narcoossee Road. Eagle Creek is a fascinating Ron Garl/Howard Swan design that plays 7,198-yard and features five par 5s for a total par of 73. It is a strategically demanding yet very playable golf course, featuring ample landing areas and challenging green complexes. Swan's European background is apparent in the course's bunkering, as many of the 90 sand bunkers are revetted, creating challenging recovery shots.

Though the course has been open to limited play for a few weeks, Friday was the first day the magnificent clubhouse has been open. There isn’t
another clubhouse in Central Florida quite like Eagle Creek’s, a vintage New England manor in appearance overlooking the 18th hole. It
features a 120-seat restaurant, a banquet room that accommodates 50 people, men's and women's locker rooms and a fully stocked pro shop.
