Eagle Creek Golf Club In South Orlando
Is New Home To Graves Golf Academy
ORLANDO, FL - Eagle Creek Golf Club in south Orlando is
the new home to the renowned Graves Golf Academy.
Based on the swing theories of the person Lee Trevino called
"the world's best ball striker,"Moe Norman, the
Graves Golf Academy offers a variety of learning experiences.
Tim and Todd Graves'goal is to help each student reach his/her
true potential, and they utilize their "Seven Principles
of Golf Improvement"to accomplish that goal.
"We are proud of our new relationship with Todd and
Tim Graves,"said Gary Piotrowski, General Manager at
Eagle Creek. "They bring a level of professionalism
that we strive for each day here at Eagle Creek. It is a
nice match."
The Seven Principles teaching philosophy employed by the
Graves Golf Academy allows golfers to gauge their games
in each specific area compared to a scratch golfer. By understanding
and applying the Seven Principles, golfers can focus on
areas of weakness in their games and work to strengthen
their strongest areas to shortcut the process of achieving
goals.
The Seven Principles are:
- Develop a sound, repeatable, powerful swing of ease
based on Moe Norman's Golf Swing. (Single Plane / Straight
Line Motion);
- Develop an efficient short game (50% up and down);
- Become a good putter (Under 30 putts per round);
- Build or buy clubs that fit your game;
- Learn to play on the course using developed skills
(Course Management);
- Learn how to practice efficiently;
- Learn how to think.

EAGLE CREEK INFORMATION
Eagle Creek, the outstanding new Ron Garl/Howard Swan design,
is located just minutes from Orlando International Airport,
and course officials made sure golfers can take full advantage
of the prime location.
They are making it easy for travelers to schedule their
final round of the golf vacation at Eagle Creek by offering
first-class clubhouse facilities men's and women's
locker-rooms with showers, and an outstanding restaurant
with quick-service meals. Eagle Creek will also arrange
transportation to the airport following golf.
"Visiting golfers need to know that Eagle Creek is a must-play'
on their trip anyway, because of the uniqueness of the experience,"
said General Manager Gary Piotrowski. "But with our convenient
location near the airport, and the amenities we offer visiting
golfers, we've made it an easy decision for them. They simply
can save the best until last, and we'll send them home feeling
refreshed with memories of a great golf experience."
The "save the best 'til last" slogan also plays into the
uniqueness of the design and its dramatic finishing hole.
With five par 5's, Eagle Creek plays to a par 73, the only
course in Central Florida to do so. Golfers generally favor
par 5's, and none is more enjoyable than the terrific finishing
hole. The 483-yard par 5 offers golfers a chance to finish
in glory, reaching the green in two. But the sloping putting
surface is bordered in front and to the right by water,
requiring extreme accuracy on the approach.
Eagle Creek opened in May to rave reviews.
"It is a fun course to play," said Jim Gleason of Lake Mary,
FL. "There is plenty of room off the tee, but the challenge
comes on the approach shots. You have to hit the right places
on the greens or you may have trouble making par."
"Eagle Creek is awesome," said Jeff Parkinson of Ohio. "Great
layout. Super condition. The greens are so true. It's hard
to believe they are brand new. It's a lot of fun to play.
We'll be back here next year."
Eagle Creek is a fascinating design located on Narcoosssee
Road near prestigious Lake Nona. The 7,198-yard, par-73
layout is a strategically demanding yet very playable golf
course, featuring ample landing areas and challenging green
complexes, a feature of Garl designs. Swan's European background
is apparent in the course's bunkering, as many of the 90
sand bunkers are revetted, creating challenging recovery
shots.
Eagle Creek is the first course in Florida to offer Mini
Verde, the fifth type of ultra dwarf Bermuda in existence.
Mini Verde provides extremely durable and fast-rolling putting
surfaces, according to results seen in other parts of the
south.
Another "first"among Central Florida courses is
the use of Club Car's high-end Precedent, a completely re-deigned
golf car, so different that it required a brand new manufacturing
plant to produce it. Precedent provides Eagle Creek customers
a ride and drive similar to that of an automobile. Golfers
will notice several features on the car that will make the
golf experience more enjoyable and comfortable.
"We're delighted that Eagle Creek has chosen Club Car
and our new Precedent golf car,"said Bill Gordon, Branch
Manager for Club Car Florida. "Precedent represents
a quantum leap in golf car design and certainly reinforces
Eagle Creek's commitment to providing the finest products
and services to enhance the golf experience."
The unique experience also is evident in the tournament
service package created by PGA Professional Tony Crawford
and his staff. It is called Five Star Tournament Service,
and thats exactly what event organizers will experience.
"Tournaments and events will be a big part of our
business," said Crawford. "We want to deliver
a product so impressive and consistent that the groups will
return year after year."
In addition, Eagle Creek is an Audubon International Silver
Signature course.
Eagle Creek's location, just 12 minutes from the Orlando
International Airport, makes it a natural site for group
outings and convention golfers. It is destined to become
a favorite of the locals as well.
The golf course is "Distinctive Orlando Golf With A
European Flair." It is designed to blend unobtrusively
with the soon-to-be built homes in the master-planned Eagle
Creek Golf Community. Homebuyers will have the option of
choosing from different communities that will make up Eagle
Creek. In addition, there will be a community park and recreation
center for residents.
