Rewards, Total Rounds, Reviews And Special Events Make Eagle Creek
Golf Clubs First Year A Resounding Success
ORLANDO, FL - Eagle Creek Golf Club in south Orlando recently closed
the book on its first year of operation, and what a year it proved
to be.
Among the highlights for highly acclaimed Ron Garl/Howard Swan design
was the number of rounds played. Even the most optimistic projections
were shattered as 41,700 rounds were registered.
We couldnt have predicted that number, and we couldnt
be happier with that result, said General Manager Gary Piotrowski.
"We have a unique product in our golf course, and from pre-opening
through today we have always placed major emphasis on customer service.
We believe that once people experienced the golf here at Eagle Creek,
they helped create the momentum that we are still enjoying by telling
their friends.
That is reflected in the overall customer satisfaction rating at
Eagle Creek. Through customer surveys completed throughout the year,
Eagle Creek earned a 3.7 rating out of a possible 4 points from its
golfers.
The Emerson International-owned golf course was magical from its
opening day. The very first event played on the par-73 golf course
was a charity tournament for the Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital,
and a hole-in-one was recorded on the 164-yard 17th hole.
Several other events fell under the highlights column. Eagle Creek
was chosen to host one of the PGA Pro-Pro tournaments during the PGA
Merchandise Show week in Orlando, and also played host to the Moe Norman
Invitation honoring the legendary ball striker from Canada.
Maybe the biggest event news came that week, when it was announced
that Eagle Creek beat out several other area courses to become a host
course for the Buick Scramble National Finals in October.
I think this speaks volumes about not only the quality of our
golf course, but also the level of our customer service and food and
beverage operations, said Piotrowski. We are extremely
proud to be chosen for such a large-scale, established event, especially
considering that our course is so new.
National recognition and awards came as well. Travel and Leisure
magazine tabbed Eagle Creek as one of the top 10 new courses in Florida
this decade, and several publications published feature stories on
the course that one visiting golfer called a must play for anyone
coming to Orlando for a golf vacation.
Located just minutes from Orlando International Airport, Eagle Creek
proved to be a favorite among visiting golfers as their getaway
round, thus the slogan Save The Best Til Last
was the theme of one Eagle Creek advertising campaign.
Other highlights: Masters runner-up Chris DiMarco setting the course
record with a 63; Graves Golf Academy opening a school at Eagle Creek;
The course earning a four-star rating by Travel & Leisure.
Eagle Creek Golf Club opened to rave reviews last May as a course
with a number of firsts. The facility features the only-par-73 layout
in Central Florida, including a fifth par five, which provides an exciting
risk/reward finishing hole. Eagle Creek is the first course in Florida
to have the durable and smooth Mini Verde grass in its greens, and
was the first in Central Florida to provide the smooth ride of the
deluxe Precedent Golf Cars from Club Car.
One other unique aspect: There isnt another clubhouse in Central
Florida quite like Eagle Creeks, a vintage New England manor
in appearance overlooking the 18th hole. It features a 120-seat restaurant,
a banquet room that accommodates 50 people, men and women's locker
rooms and a fully stocked pro shop.
And finally, the 5-Star Tournament package provided by Director Of
Golf Tony Crawford and his staff places Eagle Creek at the top of the
list of those who plan charity events, tournaments and corporate outings.
The golf course is Distinctive Orlando Golf With A European
Flair. It is designed to blend unobtrusively with homes in the
master-planned Eagle Creek Golf Community. Homebuyers have the option
of choosing from different communities that make up Eagle Creek. In
addition, there will be a community park and recreation center for
residents.
