Eagle Creek Golf Club books 1st tournament

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (November 5, 2003) - Eagle Creek Golf Club, a new Emerson International development in Southeast Orange County, booked its first tournament. Dreamflight, the British charity that brings ill children to Central Florida's theme parks, booked its annual fund raising tournament for March 19, 2004. The 144-person, shotgun start event has British Airways as its major sponsor.

"We are delighted to be hosting the Dreamflight tournament since the event has been held in Isleworth for the past two years," said Gary Piotrowski, general manager at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Eagle Creek Golf Club, Orlando's newest 18-hole golf course, is nearing completion with play scheduled to begin in early February 2004.

The 7,097-yard public golf course is an Audubon International designated course, and features five sets of tees, extensive bulkheads around water hazards, and over 90 white sand bunkers with waste bunkers up to ½ acre. The golf club includes a two-level, 14,000 square foot clubhouse with a pro shop, 120-seat restaurant, locker rooms, and offices. Other amenities include a two-sided driving range with a teaching academy. The course was designed by the collaboration of golf architects, Ron Garl, well known in the US, and Howard Swan, one of the UK's most venerated course designers.
